When Matt and Christie come into town it basically means I am on vacation. Even though I am technically not traveling....I am super busy having fun! There is no time for sitting around. We have places to go and things to do! Our first big adventure was taking a trip up to Mount Rainer. Todds family is really big on taking day trips. It was a long ways to go and we did it all in one day. Unfortunately circumstances out of our control made the day longer then it really should have been. Before we left, little Brooklynn threw up all over herself. Afterwards she seemed to be feeling ok...must have been a fluke...so we went on with our day as planned. My stomach was feeling a bit queasy too but I tried to ignore it. I was sure I could shake it off.
(Maybe I should back up a few days. 2 days earlier Kaden threw up out of the blue but seemed to be ok afterwards....can you see where this story is going???)
On our way to Mount Rainer we needed to stop at Costco in Renton because they had the best price on memory cards and Christie need some in a bad way. While we were at Costco, Kyler says his tummy is feeling weird. I thought maybe he got a bit of car sickness so when he threw up in the parking lot I figured he would feel better afterwards (like everyone else had) And it's not like I could turn around and go home. My car was full of people and we were an hour from home. So buck up buckaroo...we have places to go!
Well poor Kyler did not feel better afterwards. Lets just say his "stomach- over- filleth" all day long. I made a makeshift puke bucket for him in the car and every once in awhile we would stop and empty/ rinse it out. Like I said....we were no where near our house.

I kept expecting him to get better but poor guy was just plain sick all day long! He was such a trooper though. He didn't complain much and he would sneak off and puke in the bushes when he could. When he wasn't throwing up he would try and enjoy the day.
We did have a good time as best we could and saw some beautiful things.

Where we stopped for our picnic lunch, there was this cool old church from 1907. They still have services in it to this day

There he is being a trooper again

Wished we could have stayed here for the night....for more reasons then one!

So here is where the story gets even better. On the way back down the mountain, my nephew Austin starts throwing up. At this point we are like "oh good grief!" At the restaurant for dinner, my other nephew Brendan pukes in the bathroom. The workers at the restaurant are really wanting us to leave cuz we have screaming toddlers and puking children in the bathroom. On the way home afterwards, my mother in law and father in law become sick. My sister in law doesn't know if she for real feels sick or if its just all in her mind!! Its so crazy we can't help but laugh at the insanity of it all. We just want to get home but it seems so far at way!!
Are we on Candid Camera????
15 hrs from start to finish....we are finally home!!

A family the vomits together, stays together!
Yoo hoo! It's BYOB..."bring your own bucket" day with the Reynolds family.
Hugs,
Teresa
There is nothing fun about the stomach flu especially when you can't be home in your own bed. I am amazed that you kept going. I wonder if you will ever visit Mt. Ranier again.
